The Pac-12 North will be decided this weekend. Who comes out on top?
Article by WestCoastCFB
Boise State at #21 San Diego State
Betting Line: Boise -3
Boise State got off to a slow start to the season but over their past 6 games they've been playing at the Top 25 level that we expect from the Broncos. In those 6 games, Boise State is 5-1 with wins over Fresno State and BYU. San Diego State, on the other hand, has racked up wins all season but frequently relies on an elite defense to win them close contests. The Aztecs are 6-0 this season in one possession games, suggesting some element of luck in their 10-1 record. Expect the Broncos to knock off SDSU this week.
Prediction: Boise State 31 vs San Diego State 24
Colorado at #19 Utah
Betting Line: Utah -23.5
The Utes are playing at a Top 10 level and are 7-1 since making Cam Rising the starter at QB. Utah should win this one easily and get some rest for their starters in the 2nd half before they play in the Pac-12 Title next week.
Prediction: Utah 48 vs Colorado 17
WSU at Washington
Betting Line: WSU -1
Believe it or not, WSU is in contention for the Pac-12 North. The Cougs just need a win over UW and an Oregon State victory over Oregon to play in the conference championship against Utah. WSU should come out inspired with so much to play for while the Huskies may just be ready to move on to the next season with no bowl game possible after last week's loss to Colorado. Max Borghi should get plenty of carries against a poor Husky run defense and will lead WSU to their first Apple Cup win since 2012.
Prediction: WSU 28 vs Washington 20
Oregon State at #11 Oregon
Betting Line: Oregon -7
This should be fun. Both teams have a strong chance at winning the Pac-12 North and these are bitter rivals, so expect the teams to be fired up. Whichever team has more success on the ground likely wins this contest and we're betting on it being the Ducks who have the top run defense in the conference.
Prediction: Oregon 31 vs Oregon State 28
Arizona at Arizona State
Betting Line: ASU -20.5
ASU is in line for their 8th win of the season with the hapless Arizona Wildcats coming to town. The Sun Devils should be able to name their score here and Rachaad White will get a chance to make a case that he be Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year.
Prediction: ASU 42 vs Arizona 17
#6 Notre Dame at Stanford
Betting Line: ND -19.5
Stanford has been simply awful this season and they've lost their past 3 games by a combined 96 points. The last victory for the Cardinal miraculously came back on October 2nd when they beat the Ducks. David Shaw's team has the worst defense in the Pac-12, Notre Dame wins big.
Prediction: Notre Dame 52 vs Stanford 21
#13 BYU at USC
Betting Line: BYU -7
The Cougars are in prime position to reach a New Year's Six Bowl if they can secure a win over the Trojans. BYU also has the added motivation of going 5-0 against the Pac-12, a conference that didn't want them. USC has been awful defensively in home games and that should continue this week with Jaren Hall and Tyler Allgeier coming to town
Prediction: BYU 35 vs USC 24
Cal at UCLA
Betting Line: UCLA -6.5
The Bruins are feeling confident after dropping 62 last week on the Trojans. Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been outstanding this season and is line to be 1st Team All-Pac-12 but will face a tough test against a Cal defense that has allowed just 17.9 points per game in Pac-12 play. UCLA has the home field advantage and more talent and should be able to earn a hard fought victory.
Prediction: UCLA 28 vs Cal 24
